150cmx50cm (59 inchesx20 inches) . \n \nSTORY
 for Stamps from the Past:
Creating this scarf took me on a journey through my childhood, going through my Grandfathers stamps and selecting these to highlight as a silk scarf. \nFrom 1850 until 1913 Australian States issued their own individual postage stamps. Most portrayed portraits of Queen Victoria. \nThe early Tasmanian issues featured the state's name given by Dutch explorer Abel Tasman in 1642. He titled the land 'Van Diemen's Land' to honour his patron Anthony Van Diemen. \n \nSTORY for Lacework: After the Australian Gold rush in the 1850’s there was a building boom and many developers embraced ‘Victorian Style’ using Cast Iron Lacework to decorate gates, fences, awnings, posts and verandahs. In the UK the iron was melted for the war effort, however in Australia many examples of Cast Iron Lacework still remain and are protected by The National Trust. The Star Lodge Hotel in Nerrandera, New South Wales, is an excellent example having elaborate cast iron balustrades. The unique pattern of the lacework and duel colouring gives this scarf a classic look.

.“The artwork for our silk scarf collection is re-living our photography in a fresh way. Using a variety of techniques our challenge is to create a captivating image, often from nature’s details, that looks beautiful as a scarf.†\n \nINCLUDED WITH YOUR SCARF:
Designed Bluyonda box with magnetic lid / Tag with story about the image / Tag with history of Silk and Artist’s resume. \n \nTHESE 100% PURE SILK SCARVES
are 5mm( 22gms per square metre) in the silk weight scale, have a plain weave which is feather light and sheer. Silk Chiffon (8mm 35gms per square metre) and Silk Twill (12mm: 52gms per square metre ) are both different in terms of weight, weave, feel and sheen. \n \nTHE SILK STORY:Â
Silk is known as the Queen of fabrics: Natural sheen that never diminishes/ soft, light and luxurious / Cool in Summer – Warm in Winter/ Absorbing perspiration yet letting skin breathe/ Promoting skin rejuvenation/ Hypoallergenic/ Eco-Friendly/ Biodegradable/ Easily Washed/ great tensile strength and durability. Confucius and Chinese legend narrate that around 3000BC the 14 year old Empress Leizu, wife of the Yellow Emperor, discovered Silk when a cocoon fell into her tea cup. She then developed the art of raising silk worms (Sericulture) and became known as the Goddess of Silk in Chinese Mythology. Being an exquisite, precious fibre, for many millennia, it was one of the most zealously guarded secrets in history. \n \nCARE:
Enjoy your silk garment – our printing techniques produce colours that will not run or fade. With fundamental care, this silk scarf will maintain it’s vibrant colours and quality ‘Silk’ feel for many years. As Silk is a natural fibre avoid drying in direct sunlight. Also, avoid contact with bleaches or solvents with alcohol such as some hairsprays. \n \nHAND WASHING
: Preferred: Use lukewarm water and a mild non-alkaline soap such as baby shampoo. Avoid soaking and rinse with a few tablespoons of distilled white vinegar added to the clear water. Avoid wringing or twisting and roll in a towel then hang to dry. Avoid using dryers. \n \nIRONING:
Most wrinkles can be removed by hanging the scarf in the shower and letting humidity work. While the scarf is hanging a steam iron can be used carefully avoiding wetting locally. If necessary use a cool iron setting (Silk Setting) on the back of the damp scarf – avoid too much heat. \n \nFINISH:
